Getting Around Arlington
Commuters in Arlington are well-served by the Washington Metro, the Virginia Railway Express, the Metrobus, and the Arlington Transit System. For those who prefer to get around on their own steam, Arlington has an 86 mile system of jogging trails and off-road bike paths that run along the Potomac River, converted rail beds traversing the county, and major highways. Most major streets also have designated bike lanes.
Arlington Virginia is bordered by Fairfax County to the north, Falls Church to the west, Alexandria to the south and the Potomac River and Washington DC to the east.

Arlington County is served by the system of Arlington Public Schools which operates 22 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 4 high schools and 3 alternative programs. Arlington residents have one of the best-served student populations in the country. Every year, the Arlington school board spends an average of 13K per pupil, ranking it among the top ten big spenders in the states. Arlington County public school children speak 105 languages and hail from 127 countries.
