Gainesville VA Real Estate: Feeling the Effects of Construction

Posted by Carolyn A. Capalbo on Monday, June 15th, 2015 at 1:00pm.

As we near the culmination of a major roadway project here in Gainesville, VA our neighborhood communities are certainly feeling the effects. Currently, the commute to and from Lake Manassas  as well as several other communities has much improved now that the new overpass off of I-66 has opened and there is no longer a light at what was formally the Linton Hall Road intersection. However, Virginia Oaks and Broad Run Oaks have been impacted with heavily increased traffic diverted through what are normally family friendly quiet neighborhoods. Currently, the communities have become a thoroughfare for many trying to cut through and avoid the construction on Route 29. Additionally, communities such as Wentworth Green and others on Wellington and Limestone Road have seen increased traffic as these roads have been used to detour traffic.

As a resident and an agent, I am hoping that this project is completed sooner than later so that traffic can flow down Route 29 as intended and our Gainesville neighborhoods can return to being uninterrupted by commuter travel.
