Leesburg Virginia Real Estate Information

Leesburg is the County Seat of Loudoun County and chock full of History!  From the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War, Leesburg has played a role in all of these major historical events.  One interesting fact was that Leesburg was the safe haven for many important historical documents, such as the Declaration of Independence, during the War of 1812 when the British were wreaking havoc on Washington DC.  Today, Leesburg is a major employment center, and wonderful place to live.

Leesburg is beautiful with scenic vistas of the Catoctin Mountain and many areas of gorgeous pastoral views.  I remember visiting Leesburg in the 1980’s as a young professional working for the Xerox Corporation.  At that time Route 7 was a 2 lane country highway with little traffic.  The Xerox Training facility was originally situated on 2,265 acres of preserved deer filled land.  Roughly 2200 acres was sold off and is now basically Lansdowne.  I remember attending the facility during one of the 17 year cicadae cycles and never stepping foot outside utilizing the underground tunnels to avoid the noisy flying insects.    Today, that 2200 acres are gorgeous single family homes, Townhouses, and Condominiums.

Some of my favorite Leesburg communities enjoy amazing family friendly amenities and great conveniences.  Here are some communities to consider in Leesburg; Beacon Hill, Elysian Heights, Exeter, Grenata, Creighton Farms, Lansdowne On The Potomac, Potomac Station, Raspberry Falls, Red Cedar, River Creek, Shenstone, Woodland, and several new construction options such as Waterford Manor, Catoctin Springs, Lansdowne Square, Lofts At Village Walk, Meadowbrook Farm, Shenstone Reserve, Selma Estates, Wulf Crest, and Townes at Village Walk.
